This class introduces students to the nature of stars in our universe. We begin by looking at the stars and constellations of spring and then move on to analyzing the different types of stars that populate the universe. The only prerequisite for this course is an interest and curiosity about astronomy. Class subjects: 1) Stars and constellations of Spring: ancient folklore and constellations; 2) Star types and their properties; 3) Lives and deaths of stars; and 4) Stellar associations: clusters and galaxies. |
