To reduce first year teen crashes Albemarle County now requires parents/guardians attend a 2 hour “Parent Seminar” before enrolling their teens in Behind-the-Wheel. Experts contend that students need fifty hours of supervised driving time before being allowed to drive alone.  This seminar is designed to help you organize your child's instruction before and after they obtain their license. At the end of the seminar, parent receives a certificate which must be turned in when student registers for Behind-the-Wheel training.  Seminars are held at Albemarle High, Western Albemarle High, and Monticello High.  Check the location for each date.  A sign at the front entrance will direct you to the seminar. 

Notice:  It is recommended parents attend the seminar prior to their student getting a learners permit.  You only need to attend once if you have more than one child.
