This course is a beginner to intermediate introduction to hand-built functional ceramics and sculpture.  The course will focus on the properties and preparation of clay, developing hand building skills and techniques, principles of ceramic form and design, and decoration and glazing.  This course will explore the production of functional ware (bowls, pitchers, etc.), non-functional sculpture, and the intersections of the two. Strong manual dexterity skills and previous art class experience is helpful, but not required. Class size is limited to 12 students. A $30 material fee is due the first night to the instructor. **No class Nov. 24th.
