Practical Color Theory

Why study color theory? An understanding of color will help take the mystery out of your choices. Many seem to base color decisions on nothing more than “it looks right.” Learn the reason why some colors work together while others do not. This color basics class is designed for artists, designers, crafters, quilters, or those who can’t decide what color to paint their walls. By understanding a few basic characteristics of color, we can create more effective color harmony in our art work and life.  Learn basic attributes of color: hue (the color name); value (lightness or darkness); saturation (intensity vs. neutrality) and temperature (warmth vs. coolness). Exercises in class will include basic color charts, mixing color and practical applications. Beginners as well as those needing a review are welcome. Supply list will be e-mailed before 1st class.  Supplies should be less than $85.   *No class April 8th.

Class # : 1045
Non Resident Fees : $0.00
